Onboarding a New Closer: Setting Up Accounts and Lead Assignments
This video walks you through everything you need to do in GenieREI when you hire a new closer or lead manager.
Step 1 — Create Their Account:
- Go to Settings → My Staff → Add User
- Enter their name, email, and phone number
- Hit Next → go to Roles and Permissions
- Set them as a User and restrict their data so they only see leads assigned to them
- Click Copy Permissions and copy from an existing closer so you don't have to set it up from scratch
- Make sure Payments is turned on — this is where contracts are stored
- Hit Save
Step 2 — Add Them to Custom Fields:
- Go to Custom Fields and find the Assign To field
- Click Bulk Actions → Edit
- Add their name to the field options
- Hit Save — if their name doesn't appear right away, refresh and repeat
Step 3 — Add Them to Automations: Go to Automations → Open Acquisitions Automations and update the following one by one:
- Assign To Field — find the Closer placeholder (e.g. Closer 5), change the assign action to their name
- Inbound New Lead Assignments — add their name if you want them receiving new inbound leads
- Outbound New Lead Assignments — same as above for outbound
- Released Lead Assignment — add them to the Aged Data branch (leads older than 30 days) so they can work older released leads
Step 4 — Give Them Leads:
- Go to Contacts and filter by Assigned to MayCloud
- Select All
- Trigger the Release Leads for [Their Name] automation
- Hit Add to Automation
- Any cloud lead older than 30 days will now be visible to them and ready to call
Note: If a name change doesn't save, refresh the page and repeat the step — don't move on until you confirm it's showing correctly.
